Introduction
The Mentorship Program is a capacity-building initiative by MisstyB’s Foundation aimed at guiding students across Nigerian universities through structured mentorship, personal development, and career readiness support. The program connects students with experienced mentors, practical learning resources, and real-life insights to help them grow academically, professionally, and personally.
How We Executed This Project
The program was implemented through carefully designed mentorship cohorts and learning series, combining one-on-one guidance, group engagement, and practical development sessions to ensure meaningful impact.
Cohort 1
Six 200-level female students from universities across Nigeria were mentored directly by the Founder over a six-month period. The cohort participated in a personal development series that included experience sharing by the best female engineering student from the University of Ibadan, LinkedIn optimization sessions, CV reviews, book reviews, SWOT analysis, and reflection on personal accomplishments.
Cohort 2
Eleven students from universities across Nigeria were paired with six mentors from diverse professional backgrounds. The cohort engaged in monthly personal development sessions focused on building resilience, creating impact, CV development, and professional writing. Activities included individual and group projects, mentee webinar series, and collaborative learning sessions. Recorded sessions were made accessible on YouTube.
Scholarship Webinars
To address the challenge of limited access to accurate scholarship guidance, the foundation organized two scholarship-focused webinar sessions. Past scholars of PTDF and DAAD scholarships were invited to share their experiences and common mistakes to avoid during applications. These sessions remain available on YouTube and have recorded over 1,600 combined views, continuing to support aspiring scholars.
